  That Luang - Vientiane



That Luang, the great stupa of nation. The monument of king Sayasetthathirat who found Vientiane as the Capital of Lanexang kingdom is installed in front of the stupa is painted of golden color. One part of the Lord Buddha bones is kept for worshipping. The Buddhist festival is annually performed in the full moon of the twelve-month of lunar calendar
 Wat Sisaket - Vientiane

 
 
Built in 1818 by King Anouvong and having survived the attacks by the Siamese, this is the oldest standing temple in Vientiane . It is also one of the oldest monasteries in the country and houses many important documents and treasures, including 6.840 Buddha images.
  Wat Xieng Thong Temple - Laung Prabang

Wat Xieng Thong Temple Built during the 16th Century by King Saysetthathirath and completed in 1560. Wat Xieng Thong temple is one of the most interesting examples of art and Buddhist architecture. The ornate carved and gilded funeral vehicle of the former king is kept in one of the buildings in the temple grounds. It is well worth visiting and paying your respects to this temple while in Luang Prabang.
This temple was used to organize the highest Royal Ceremonies and houses the bones of King Sisavangvong. The intricate golden facades, colorful murals, glass mosaics and unique three-layered roof make this one of the most beautiful temples in Asia.
 
  Tham Ting Cave - Laung Prabang


Tham Ting Cave is 40 km north of the city. The amazing to that place made the tourists to go upstream by boat about 2 hours. Within the cave there are many hands of rock. At very corner, the Buddha images are placed granted by worshipers. There are the collected arts of many hundred years of the Buddhist people. At the present no on and guess how old the Buddha images year were. In front of the cave, the Nam Ou river meets the Mekong river can be compared that the north gate very important of the strategy.
In addition to these, Tham Ting has important role in the old tradition where the king that arrived her in the Lao new year day. In front of Tham Ting, Pha Ene Mount is on the left bank of Nam Ou river.

  Plain of Jars - Xieng Khouang

 

An air of mystery hangs over the Plain of Jars. Local folklore says that, in the 6th century, the warrior king, Khun Jeuam, brought his army from Southern China and defeated the evil chieftain, Chao Angka. The mighty battle was followed by a mighty feast, at which hundreds of gigantic jars of lao-lao rice wine were consumed. Khun Jeuam was, apparently, as bad at tidying up as he was good at throwing parties, for he left behind all of the empty jars, of which nearly three hundred remain, scattered around the flat plains near Phonsavan, including his own six-tonne 'victory cup.'

   Vangvieng Nature and Nam Song River Rafting - Vientiane

 
 
Vangvieng is situated 152 kilometers from Vientiane on Route 13 (north). This small village is set against a backdrop of dramatic Limestone Mountains. Vangvieng is an ideal place to break the long journey from Vientiane to Luang Prabang. Bamboo cabins and guesthouse are both available for those seeking overnight accommodation.
   Kuangxi Waterfall - Laung Prabang


 
This impressive waterfall is located about 28 kilometers south of Luang Prabang. You can take a tuk-tuk from the center of the city or rent your own transport. Several villages inhabited by people from ethnic minorities can be visited along the way to the waterfall. The scenery on the way to Tad Kuang Si is beautiful featuring fresh air, flowers and wild animals.
   Khone Pha Pheng Waterfall - Champassak



 

By volume the largest waterfall in Southeast Asia, thundering Khone Phapheng is one of the most inspiring and popular attractions in the province. Among the waterfall’s many channels and rocky outcrops visitors can see local people using traditional fishing techniques. Li Phi, just north of Khone Phapheng, is another amazing natural site that is best seen during the months of December-March when the cascade’s clear waters are tinted emerald green. Food and beverage facilities are available at both sites.
